SOLD - The first Gibson F5 Master Model signed by David Harvey, this is a very good bluegrass mandolin. It has "the tone" - powerful...loud...deep...woody...and it has that "hard as glass" clarity and "pop" that is hard to find. As for looks: a great-looking piece of red spruce for the top with beautiful grain, a deeply-figured maple back, and all the traditional Gibson appointments. Other than a Loar, I can't imagine what more one could want in an F5 mandolin. The gold standard of modern mandolins.
Features - Hand varnished and French-polished cremona finish. Rounded V neck profile. 1 1/16" nut. Top bound. Flat fretboard w/ thin frets. Engraved silver tailpiece. Silver waverly tuners with pearl buttons. "The Gibson" logo and flowerpot inlays. Hide glue construction. Vintage reproduction case.
