I was very fortunate to acquire this top-of-the-line Brentrup F5C mandolin directly from Hans Brentrup, as he no longer builds mandolins. This is a fine instrument with tone that rivals any mandolin I've played. It is deep, woody, balanced, and powerful and has a very strong mid-range. This is Hans' version of a Loar.
Features - Hand varnished tobacco burst finish. Beautiful two-piece back. 1 1/16" nut. Side bound (like Monroe's). Immaculate workmanship. Flat fretboard, small stainless steel frets. Truss rod. Vintage-style pick guard. Engraved James tailpiece. Brentrup logo and flowerpot inlays. Adjustable bridge.
Was priced new at $12,500 - feel free to make a reasonable offer.
